Nicole has helped many people become free from pain and has successfully treated some of the following conditions: sciatica, low back pain, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, hip pain, knee injuries, joint replacement surgery recovery, frozen shoulder, thoracic outlet syndrome, whiplash, tension headaches, rotator cuff injuries and fibromyalgia.
Nicole uses many techniques including deep tissue, stretching, trigger point therapy and Thai massage. She also offers Chi Nei Tsang, an ancient Chinese abdominal massage technique that is deeply healing and promotes well being on physical, mental and emotional levels. She is also Rock Tape certified.
Nicole received her massage training at the New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts in Santa Fe. She continues to study Thai massage at The Thai Bodywork School of Thai Massage in Chicago and Chi Nei Tsang at the White Cloud Institute in Santa Fe.
Karen received her training from the Kalamazoo Center for the Healing Arts. She has also taken additional courses in Cranial Sacral therapy from the Upledger Institute and Myofascial Release from John Barnes. Her massages tend to include both of the above therapies as well as Acupressure, Polarity and Swedish techniques. The sessions can be all one modality i.e. Cranial Sacral Therapy or Myofascial Release or incorporating a combination of techniques in accordance with the client’s needs and desires.
Karen likes to use Cranial Sacral Therapy to address that fight or flight syndrome that many people have today. It helps to calm the parasympathetic nervous system and allows the body to relax and repair. She also likes to use Myofascial Release to help the muscles free up restrictions with a gentle sustained pressure that releases and elongates the connective tissue.
Karen’s feeling is that so much can be attained with just a touch and that is what many of us need more of. In this high tech world we have gotten so mechanized with everything being fixed by a machine or a pill and many have forgotten the power that is in the hands, the heart and the mind and she would like to help change that.
While Western philosophy focuses more on morality (what is right and wrong), Eastern philosophy focuses more on the body, and how our body is integrated with our spirit. For example: if you fall off your bike when you’re 7 years old, skin your knee and your friends laugh at you, that embarrassment can get held in your knee! The type of work Ali-Marie does is able to assist your body in releasing those types of emotions stored in your connective tissue. (Including those extreme emotions linked to serious illnesses, car accidents, etc.) Ali-Marie has seen success with her clients by eliminating migraines, correcting vertigo, improving short-term memory, relieving upper back tension due to occipital strain and so much more.
Ali-Marie believes our being reflects the Christian understanding of God in the fact that we were made in His image; 3-in-one beings; mind, body and spirit. She believes the best form of health comes when all three of these aspects are in balance with each other. Ali-Marie does her best to meet each person where they are (on all 3 levels), and assist their body in the self-healing process we are all capable of. In turn, reintegration with self becomes possible, and optimal wellness becomes achievable. Schedule a session now to experience a judgement-free zone, where you are welcome to come just as you are.
