Nicole has helped many people become free from pain and has successfully treated some of the following conditions: sciatica, low back pain, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, hip pain, knee injuries, joint replacement surgery recovery, frozen shoulder, thoracic outlet syndrome, whiplash, tension headaches, rotator cuff injuries and fibromyalgia.
Nicole uses many techniques including deep tissue, stretching, trigger point therapy and Thai massage. She also offers Chi Nei Tsang, an ancient Chinese abdominal massage technique that is deeply healing and promotes well being on physical, mental and emotional levels. She is also Rock Tape certified.
Nicole received her massage training at the New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts in Santa Fe. She continues to study Thai massage at The Thai Bodywork School of Thai Massage in Chicago and Chi Nei Tsang at the White Cloud Institute in Santa Fe.
Karen received her training from the Kalamazoo Center for the Healing Arts. She has also taken additional courses in Craniosacral therapy from the Upledger Institute and Myofascial Release from John Barnes. Her massages tend to include both of the above therapies as well as Acupressure, Polarity and Swedish techniques. The sessions can be all one modality i.e. Craniosacral Therapy or Myofascial Release or incorporating a combination of techniques in accordance with the client’s needs and desires.
Karen likes to use Craniosacral Therapy to address that fight or flight syndrome that many people have today. It helps to calm the parasympathetic nervous system and allows the body to relax and repair. She also likes to use Myofascial Release to help the muscles free up restrictions with a gentle sustained pressure that releases and elongates the connective tissue.
Karen’s feeling is that so much can be attained with just a touch and that is what many of us need more of. In this high tech world we have gotten so mechanized with everything being fixed by a machine or a pill and many have forgotten the power that is in the hands, the heart and the mind and she would like to help change that.
Brrasie is a 2003 graduate of Kalamazoo Center for the Healing Arts. She’s passionate about healing and helping people feel better both physically and mentally.
She has a highly intuitive sense of what someone needs. Brrasie listens carefully to what the client is looking to receive, the help they hope to have and discusses a plan for the session before it starts. She likes to keep conversation to a minimum during the massage, speaking only about the pressure or helping the client connect with their breath.
She studied the art of Acupressure for nine months and most of the work she does evolves from this awareness. It’s not always a point or pressure on a point, she also has a deep awareness and appreciation for the power of Meridians in the body and how the energy in the body flows through them. This knowledge is what gives Brrasie an intuitive edge and helps her clients in ways they weren’t aware they needed help.
Her goal is to make her clients feel amazing and to help develop a treatment plan, if needed, for continued health and wellness in the long run.
